Special Cargo
Metro Ports is no stranger to special cargo. When the Chinese government decided
to purchase the entire Kaiser Steel Facility in Fontana, Metro stepped up to the
plate. After the People's Republic of China sent some 200 workers over to systematically
begin dismantling, marking and numbering, and crating the steel plant, Metro was
chosen to load the 6 ships needed to transport the facility back to China. With
Superintendents of some 30 years experience, Metro expertly acquired the necessary
equipment and loadout facilities to get the job done.
Whether handling Blue Line railroad cars for Los Angeles, windmills for energy farms
in the desert southwest or discharging fully erect container cranes from specialized
ships, Metro has the experience to perform any special cargo handling needs.
